Health Law

The right to health is a part of the right to life. Right to life is described in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, clause 3 as follows: "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person". It is said in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, clause 25 that “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control...."1. As is understood, right to health is one of the most fundamental rights and it reveals once again how important the protection of rights and interests of clients in field of health is.

Health law has two dimensions. One dimension is composed of patients and rights of patients while the other dimension includes healthcare workers, health care institutions and health care practices. Just as the protection of fundamental right to health is so important, representation of health care workers, health care institutions and practices in the best was is significant for the continuance of efficient health services to the same extent.
